We would like to share with you this resource regarding the issue of child soldiers. The following is taken from the PCUSA website (http://www.pcusa.org/children/) where you can find more information.

“February 12, 2009 is Red Hand Day – theinternational child soldier’s commemoration day, a day to work to end the use of child soldiers.

During 2009, the 20th anniversary of the ratification of the Convention on the Rights of the Child, the Office of Child Advocacy, the Presbyterian Peacemaking Program and the Presbyterian United Nations Office are partnering to keep the issue of child soldiers at the forefront.

The aim of the Red Hand Day campaign is to gather one million “red hands” – the symbol of the global campaign against the use of child soldiers – and present them to United Nations officials in New York on
February 12, 2009, the anniversary of the day the treaty banning the use of child soldiers took effect. Download a Red Hands resource pack. “
