Here are some more thoughts (a follow up from previous post) on rereading Scripture from a contextually sensitive interpretation: ________________________________ The practice of hermeneutics is one that needs to be carefully treaded upon, but one that must be consulted if we are to read the Bible for the sake of our children as Nolan Fewell … Continue reading Rereading Scripture – mutual ground for multi-generational-sensitive Bible reading

de bible
Just ran across this great quote in an old book. "Unexpected News: Reading the Bible with Third World Eyes" by Robert McAfee Brown. I'll let you guess what it says about my politics, but doubtless we will disagree on the power found in God's Word. Give it a try! It might just change your life … Continue reading de bible

Compassion International-Sponsor a Child this Easter
Why not consider sponsoring a child with Compassion International? Our family just did. It's a great way to give during Easter and all year long. A Walk in the Barrio
Just walked outside with Tyler for a walk in the neighborhood and came up with this. This is the first time we have seen this bird in our neck of the woods. These are Firey-billed Aracari who are normally found in the Caribbean lowlands. It appeared to be two adults (mom and dad?) and a … Continue reading A Walk in the Barrio
