Taking a Break
We have been thoroughly enjoying our Semana Santa (Holy Week) here. This has been an awesome time for our family to get away and enjoy God's creation here in Costa Rica. Here are a few pictures I have taken of some animals we have seen recently (including some this week).
FaMiLy TiMe
We had a relaxing Palm Sunday up here on the mount today. After a busy week, we decided to just hang out and restore our minds and bodies. Tyler, Kira and I (Greg) have been recovering from a bad cold and needed a relaxing day. And well, mom, she just plain deserved a relaxing day! … Continue reading FaMiLy TiMe
Latin America in the news
I am tempted to give away my political bent here, but will probably go PC in order to get to my real point. I just happened to look out my window today in San José to see a black limousine with U.S. flags flying on the front with an entourage of police and security units … Continue reading Latin America in the news
My Research
I frequently get asked what am I writing these days. Most of my research is focused on Church based reponse to street-living and working children. In Spanish I would say "me … Continue reading Nouwen, the bus and a cow
Memories of a grandma
Some of my earliest memories of my grandma are from their house in Orange when I was just a little boy. I have little recollection of those years, but I can remember the joy I always found on my grandma's face when we showed up. Lots of hugs and kisses followed soon after. I remember … Continue reading Memories of a grandma

Church, Childhood and Slumdog Millionaire
I am still reflecting on the movie Slumdog Millionaire that I mentioned a few posts back. While the movie did not focus on care of children coming from at risk situations, the news following the movie has. Who is in the best position to care for children on the street and living in high risk … Continue reading Church, Childhood and Slumdog Millionaire
